Work Faster Play Longer is a one-person firm. I’m Shawn Kuehn, and I do the bookkeeping, the coaching and the trip planning myself, built around a method I use in my own business: clean numbers first, then solid systems, then the freedom to step away.
Who we are
Work Faster Play Longer, LLC is a New Jersey company founded June 30, 2021, based in Hopatcong and serving business owners nationwide. We do three things for one kind of owner: the service business at roughly $250K to $1M a year whose owner runs decisions off the bank balance, doesn’t fully trust the books, and can’t take a real week off.

What inspired you to create Work Faster Play Longer?
Honestly? Frustration. I couldn’t find a single place online that combined practical business help with reminders to enjoy life. I wanted a space where entrepreneurs could get support without feeling like they were being sold a dream or a hustle. Something grounded. Something useful. Something human.
What does “Work Faster Play Longer” mean to you?
It’s not about rushing. It’s about working smarter: automating what you can, delegating what you should, and freeing up time for the stuff that actually matters. Whether that’s a beach day with your kids or finally taking that RV trip across the states.
What’s one thing you wish more business owners knew?
That burnout isn’t a badge of honor. You don’t have to sacrifice your health, family, or sanity to build something great. The best businesses are built by people who know when to step back and recharge.
Any quirks we should know about you?
I’ve been known to throw very large parties and would love to start doing that again, so stay tuned!
Our story
For over 25 years I worked inside a family business. I became the person fixing machines at 2 a.m. because nobody else knew how, and I believed that was what leadership looked like.
I was wrong. Real leadership builds the system so the machine keeps running without you standing next to it.
I founded Work Faster Play Longer in June 2021 to bring that lesson to other owners, and I built it the same way I ask clients to build: in the mornings and evenings, around a full schedule, one system at a time. The three services fit together on purpose. Clean numbers come first, because you can’t fix what you can’t see. Systems come next, because clean numbers only matter when you act on them. And the vacation you can actually take is the proof the systems work.
The name is the whole point. Work faster so you can play longer, with the business still running when you get back.
