You’ve done the hard work.
After Step 1 gave you your WHY, Step 2 delivered the systems. Then Step 3 brought clear numbers into focus. Finally, Step 4 gave you the courage to delegate without fear.
Now it’s time for the payoff you’ve been fighting for: **Play Longer**.
However, the real test begins right now: Will all of this actually stick… or will the business slowly creep back in and steal your evenings again?
I’ve seen it happen too many times — including to myself early on. Moreover, you feel amazing for a few weeks, then one “quick” request turns into another, and suddenly you’re right back where you started.
Yet Step 5 changes that forever. These simple strategies are the guardrails that make the entire Freedom Blueprint permanent.

The Simple Truth That Changes Everything
Look at all you’ve built — the blood, sweat, and tears. In fact, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Therefore, it’s time to get re-energized, recharged, and actually enjoy life with your family while they’re still young.
Best of all, the math is simple: just like you reverse-engineer profit, you reverse-engineer the vacation. Figure out exactly how much it will cost, then build the business to support it.
So schedule the vacation FIRST — then make the systems deliver it. You deserve this.
In 2026 the trip is also the test. A business that runs without you is not proven on a Tuesday when you are in the building. It is proven on day nine of a two-week trip, when the assistant has run the close every night and nobody had to call you. Book the trip, and let it measure the systems. If something breaks, you come home with the exact list of what to fix, which is a better souvenir than a mug.
Walt Disney World® Resort as the Ultimate Example
I use the Walt Disney World® Resort as my go-to example because it’s the highest-stress vacation destination on the planet. As a result, if you can make a Walt Disney World vacation relaxing, you can make any family trip relaxing.
Here’s the exact blueprint I use:
MUST-DO EXPERIENCES (The Non-Negotiables)
- Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom® Park (best viewed from Main Street, U.S.A.® or the hub)
- TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom® Park, or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT® (both are headliners: standby or a paid Lightning Lane Single Pass)
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT® (short wait at rope drop, and it has a single-rider line)
- Eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant (or at least grab the Grey Stuff cupcake). Book it as lunch: easier to get, and it is an air-conditioned midday break inside the castle
Top Time-Saving Strategies (Save Hours Every Day)
- Rope drop at least one park
- Know the three Lightning Lane products: Lightning Lane Multi Pass (pick three rides in advance), Lightning Lane Single Pass (the headliners, sold one ride at a time, up to two a day), and Premier Pass (every Lightning Lane in the park, priced accordingly). Most families do fine with Multi Pass plus one Single Pass on their must-ride
- Use Early Entry if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel: a thirty-minute head start every morning at every park
- Park hop when the first park thins out: big rides in one park early, hop when the crowds build
- Book dining reservations 60 days out, or use mobile order for quick service
- Master the My Disney Experience app: real-time waits, mobile ordering, Lightning Lane booking, virtual queues
Bonus: Dessert Party Recommendation Book a Dessert Party for the fireworks. Plus reserved seating + snacks means you skip 60–90 minutes of standing in the crowd. At EPCOT® there is no dessert party; the equivalent is the fireworks dining package at Rose & Crown Dining Room in the United Kingdom pavilion, a sit-down dinner with reserved patio seats for Luminous The Symphony of Us. Same idea: you are buying ninety minutes back.
Your Recharge Checklist (Print This)

Post-trip insights: the nerdy part only business owners get
Nobody else at the pool is watching how the place is run. You are, so use it. Three questions to bring home. What ran smoothly every time, and what is the written rule behind it? A four-year-old gets a birthday button and every cast member uses her name all day. Somebody wrote that rule down. How did they handle the wait? An honest posted time and something to look at. What does your customer’s wait look like: the phone hold, the quote turnaround, the we’ll-call-you-back? How did they recover from a mistake? A dropped ice cream is replaced without a question, because recovery was decided in advance so the front line never has to ask permission. Take the three best answers home. That is the list you hand to your assistant on Monday.
